AJL Annual Convention
|
Jews in the Golden West
The Association of Jewish Libraries held its 40th annual conference
in Oakland, California, on June 19-22, 2005. Librarians, archivists,
and scholars from numerous disciplines met to share their interests
in Judaica librarianship and related areas.

Many papers from the convention are published in the online Proceedings.

Attending convention is not only beneficial personally and professionally,
it is also a great way to draw attention to our own libraries! Your
attendance at convention shows the professional attitude you take towards
running your own library, and your community should be proud of that.
For those of you who were in Oakland, consider sending a press release
to your local papers (Jewish and secular press) and writing an article
for your organization's newsletter.
To make it easy for you, here is a generic fill-in-the-blanks press
release about attending convention. Feel free to adapt and change
it for your own use. If you have any great photos of yourself at convention,
send that along too. And if you get in the papers, please share the
news with the rest of us!
Good luck,

The AJL annual convention is held in
a different location each year.
