Possibly final words

Wed. morning (felt like 4 am)
The R&S section had an interesting meeting in which we changed our name to RAS (I hope I'm getting this right ... Research libraries, Archives, and Special collections) We wanted the name change to reflect all the organization who are already involved in AJL and to encourage other archives and special collections to join (and make it easier for them to get funding by putting those terms in the name.
In the general session, Dr. David Gilner, spoke in appreciation of Ronda Rose's hard work and dedication during her term and thank her husband for loaning Ronda to us. He discharged the old board and installed the new one. Good luck to them all!
I know that there will be flood of thanks and words of appreciation to the AJL convention committe and I wanted to join in too! The program had a really great mix of topics - I often wanted to be in 2 or 3 places at a time. Food was good - I could have lived on the sorbet's! Thanks all!
I really enjoyed the blogging process - I hope that a bunch of you will email me your impressions synopses of programs that I couldn't go to.

I just have to praise the convention committee for putting on an absolutely stellar convention. I have never seen an AJL convention run so smoothly! It was a delight from start to finish. I also want to thank Sheryl for taking the blog idea and running with it! The blog has been a wonderful addition to the convention for attendees and for those who had to just attend in spirit!
